Just in Time for the Holidays, ‘Krampus’ Is Headed Your Way! (Beware!)

After making Fanboy Comics’ holiday gift list and checking it twice, inquiring minds at FBC want to know . . . have you been naughty or nice this year?  Why would the FBC staffers be querying such a personal question?  Well, nestled within the pages of FBC’s upcoming book, Fearworms: Selected Poems, lies “Krampus Comes to Town,” a joyous, seasonal tale about everyone’s favorite Christmas demon, and we simply wanted know whether to send this jolly fellow to your door!  In light of Fearworms‘ upcoming release on December 15, 2014, Fanboy Comics wants to provide you with the gift of “Krampus” in a free audio preview!

Fearworms: Selected Poems, written and illustrated by Robert Payne Cabeen (Tainted Treats, Heavy Metal 2000, A Monkey’s Tale, Walking with Buddha), is a collection of horror poems and full-color artwork featuring cover art by Eisner-winning, Emmy-nominated artist Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, Stray Toasters, The New Mutants).

A free digital preview and free audio samplings of Fearworms’ poetry (including “Krampus Comes to Town”) are currently available on the book’s website, www.fearworms.com, and at www.fanboycomics.net.  In addition, Cabeen’s “Krampus” artwork recently made its debut in the San Francisco area at the 63 Bluxomes Street Gallery‘s Krampusmas Art Show.  Featuring over 20 artists, Krampusmas is a group art show dedicated to the festive Christmas demon.  (Author Cabeen and a gallery patron appear on the right at the Krampusmas premiere.)

With the holidays fast approaching, Fearworms‘ poems will provide an ideal opportunity to bring back the holiday tradition of reading ghost stories for all to hear around a fire. In fact, author Cabeen insists that his poems are to be enjoyed to their fullest extent when read aloud. “Like so many poets, past and present, I write for the ear, not the eye. I would suggest that a well-crafted poem begs to be read aloud. When you recite a poem, you own it–it’s yours for life,” said Cabeen.

Fearworms: Selected Poems will be available for purchase on the Fanboy Comics website starting on Monday, December 15, 2014.
